NIGHTSHADE announces new album “In Essence Divided”

NIGHTSHADE renewed the partnership to My Kingdom Music for the release of the new album “In Essence Divided” scheduled for February 2026.
Infusing moods ranging from dark and psychedelic, to heavy and galloping riffs, “In Essence Divided” is an intense and captivating album inspired by Progressive Metal, Avantgarde Black Metal and Melodic Metal, delighting fans of OPETH, but also those enjoying an uncanny mix of influences from PINK FLOYD to BLOOD INCANTATION, from SAMAEL to GOJIRA!
First concept album of a trilogy, it explores the motives of cosmogonies as told in mythologies from all around the world and over 11 musicians contributed to the recordings of its 60 minutes total running.
David and Thomas explained about the sound of this new album and its evolution from their previous “Sounds of Dark Matter”:
“We took a more progressive turn with our previous album “Sounds of Dark Matter” and I think “In Essence Divided” takes that direction even further. I think “adventurous” is the adjective that best describes the new songs: there are many influences behind them, from Avant-garde Black Metal to Progressive, from Melodic Metal to Industrial. We wanted to experiment and work differently during the recording process. Throughout all this, Raphael Bovey (who mixed and mastered the album, and has previously worked on Monkey3, Nostromo, Gojira, and Samael) perfectly captured what we wanted to do and gave the songs an incredible identity“.
The album will be a digipack CD and will contain a 12 pages booklet with lots of great artworks. Preorders have started.
